FAS S104 Error

Erwin Vos

Question

We have implemented FAS on-prem and in cloud. Both are working with SSO. Now we would like to start a citrix cloud vm through our on-prem portal url which is a netscaler url which is loadbalancing our StoreFront servers. But if we try to start a citrix cloud vm we are prompted with username/password. In the eventviewer we see the following:

[S104] Identity Assertion Logon failed.  Failed to connect to Federated Authentication Service: UserCredentialService [Address: <servername.domain>][Index: 0] [Error: Access Denied

I think there is something to be set in the Firewall / Netscaler but i cant figure out yet. Has anyone experienced this issue and have a solution?

Solved

because we have 2 fas on-prem and 2 fas in cloud and we received the ‘s104 error with  access denied’ on our loadbalanced storefront environment we found out that the error was created by the Cloud FAS server which didn’t recognize the on-prem storefront servers. We added them to the FAS GUI in cloud and removed the domain computers. After that we changed the GPO with storefront members and added there also the two cloud FAS server (thus 4 now). Then we add the 2 cloud FAS servers to all OUs where VDAs reside and after ge-update we were able to start a cloud vm through our url with SSO.
