Him Ho1709162792

Question

I am using PVS server and want to upgrade my win10 mater image from 1809 to 2OH2

I followed be low method.

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/provisioning/7-15/install/in-place-upgrade.html

All the think seems alright.

1.window update

2.downding update

3.install the update

after reboot, the system show the 20H2 update is installed, but actually the system information show my win10 is still 1809 version.

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade win10 normally?

Thanks!

The edocs link for inplace upgrade is targeted towards PVS target device software upgrade.
Any software changes (windows or 3rd party) which update/change networking componeents, the upgrade cannot be completed while the C drive is streamed via PVS.
Upgrading windows versions could be expected to update/change networking, and so not be possible via streamed disk.

It would be best to reverse image.

Yes, Kelan is correct. The only way to upgrade Win 10 1809 to any newer version of win 10 is to:

  • Reverse image.  Boot to HDD without going through network booting. (the client is not connected to the PVS server)
  • Uninstall PVS target device.
  • Upgrade the OS to a newer version of Win 10.
  • Install Windows updates.
  • Install PVS target device.
  • Image new OS to new vDisk.
