Citrix Reciever / Workspace stops working after Temp file cleaning script is run.

James Peercy

Once a month we run a script to clean out Temporary files from our customer's computers.

Apparently every time we run the script they have to uninstall (and run the receiver cleanup tool) and reinstall the Citrix Receiver or Workspace app on the computers and haven't told us until now.

The Script (Batch File) is as follows.

@echo off
if not "%1" == "max" start /MAX cmd /c %0 max & exit/b
echo Cleaning system junk files, please wait . . .
del /f /s /q %systemdrive%\*.tmp
del /f /s /q %systemdrive%\*._mp
del /f /s /q %systemdrive%\*.log
del /f /s /q %systemdrive%\*.gid
del /f /s /q %systemdrive%\*.chk
del /f /s /q %systemdrive%\*.old
del /f /s /q %systemdrive%\recycled\*.*
del /f /s /q %windir%\*.bak
del /f /s /q %windir%\prefetch\*.*
rd /s /q %windir%\temp & md %windir%\temp
echo Junk files clean is finished!
echo. & pause

What we are needing to know is what portion of the script is breaking the Citrix applications and what a fix or workaround would be.
