Group Policy Object - GPME problem

Antonio Zec

Question

So we are using Group Policy Object(Citrix Policies) . From within Group Policy as a Citrix Policy (similar to Studio).

We are partly using it to "Auto connect client COM ports" and "Client COM port redirection".

It seems that this policy isnt applying correctly or at all anymore.

I have ran a "Group Policy Results Wizard" and I can see that the group policy object is getting applied on the VDA and the user but here I cant see that the "Auto connect client COM ports" and "Client COM port redirection" settings are applied.

How can I check if the policy settings are applied or not. Gpresult and rsop doesnt give me the information.

what could the problem be?

Hi Antonio,

All settings that are applied can be found in the registry, see the Citrix support article for the location. The article mentions XenApp 6.x but for the newer versions it's the same.

The policy settings are stored in the following registry locations:

32-bit components: HKLM\Software\Policies\Citrix

64-bit components: HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Policies\Citrix

The user policies enable or disable specific features for the user sessions. Policy settings are stored in the following registry locations:

32-bit components: HKLM\Software\Policies\Citrix\<SessionID>

64-bit components: HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Policies\Citrix\<SessionID>
