Windows 10 Home and Citrix External monitor problem

Mubeen Ahmed

I have an external monitor which I attach to my Windows Surface book 3 (with Windows 10 version 1903) by using an HDMI. And I use a virtual desktop (VDS) for work.

Previously there was an issue where when I used Citrix Receiver to connect to the VDS, my external monitor started bugging out. It kept going black for a bit, then came back, then black again. After much agony and countless calls with Windows team, turned out that Citrix interferes with the video driver of the external monitor. And hence we had to uninstall Citrix and do a factory reset. They proposed getting a docking station but that is not cheap.

I really do not want to go through that reset again. But I do need Citrix for my VDS rather than using the light web version. So my question is, is there still some outstanding bug or glitch  when using Citrix Receiver with Windows 10 and is this External monitor issue logged/addressed somewhere? Has it been fixed in new version?
