NIC card not in HCL

Radu Silviu-Ionut

Question

I looked in the wrong HCL and bought 10G NIC Cards for 3 servers.

The 10G NIC Card is on the XenServer 7.1 CU2 LTS version, but not on the Citrix Hypervisor 8.2 LST HCL, version which is installed on my servers.

The NIC Cards are HPE  Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 530SFP+ Adapter.

Do I have any chance to make those NIC Cards work on Citrix Hypervisor 8.2 LST, or am I doomed to buy other NIC Cards?

Well, 50/50. Hopefully the drivers are still included and when you install/upgrade those nics will be present and usable.

If not you'll either have to use the DDK to compile drivers or switch out those cards with something on the HCL. Of course

in a perfect world the HCL is the way to go, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they won't function.
