Connection error to NetScaler through Api Rest-Nitro - POSTMAN

Pedro Huaroto M

Question

Good day Team ,

I'm starting in Nitro API, and wanting to do a basic connection test with POSTMAN.
For the NetScaler ADC (13.1: Build 4.43) login with the credentials:
nsroot
test123

But in Postman displays this error message:

Response:
{
    "errorcode": 1025,
    "message": "Login failed [basic authentication cannot co-exist with login request]",
    "severity": "ERROR"
}

--

The configuration that I use is:

-POST
http://10.10.137.90/nitro/v1/config/login

-Headers:
X-NITRO-USER    nsroot
X-NITRO-PASS    test123
Content-Type    application/json

- Body/ raw:
{
    "login":
    {
        "username":"nsroot",
        "password":"test123",
        "timeout":900
    }
}

----
Response:
{
    "errorcode": 1025,
    "message": "Login failed [basic authentication cannot co-exist with login request]",
    "severity": "ERROR"
}

----
In Logs
tail -f /var/log/nitro.log

Any suggestions for testing with Postman or Soapui?

Thanks

Hi Carl, the postman, yes it have the config. header, as shown in the attached image.

I believed that with the Nitro API I could obtain information on the blocking attack statistics from the waf, since the ADM cannot show hits from the virtual server LB (with waf) when they are integrated with Content Switching, (Citrix Support also said that it does not support it at the moment), but I see that the Nitro API is to see the configuration or change, but it does not see statistics. Is there a way that I can obtain attack statistics to show it in an application to be developed?

Thanks
