Thinclient not renewing RDS cal

Question

A few day ago we observed a strange behaviour according the checkout of MS RDS cals in our environment.

Environment:

TC with Igel OS (linux based)

VDA with 1912 LTSR CU3 (Server 2016; PVS Target device in standard mode)

MS Remote desktop licensing server (per Device cals)

 

Issue:

If you connect with the TC to a VDA based on Windows server 2016, you will get the message that there was an issue with your CAL and your session will be logged off automatically after 60 minutes.

The TC has a temporary CAL assigned on the RDLS but it is not getting renewed or switched to a permament license.

According to this knowledge base article https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX276607 I renamed the TC but with no success. Still got the 60 minutes message.

In my site db I found the corresponding hardware ID for my TC but not an related entry in the VDA's registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\MSLicensing\BUCKET_xx.

 

Any idea what is causing this issue?
