Citrix HDX engine crashes

We use Citrix to manage some of our company-specific internal database management software.  Until recently things were working fine.  I upgraded to the latest version of Citrix Workspace and the app now crashes randomly (but almost always after <5 minutes) with the error "Citrix HDX engine has stopped working."  Event viewer tells me the following:

Faulting application name: WFICA32.EXE, version:, time stamp: 0x607ed776
Faulting module name: VDGUSBN.DLL_unloaded, version:, time stamp: 0x607ed521
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000312f0
Faulting process id: 0x27d4
Faulting application start time: 0x01d750f668d43d40
Faulting application path: C:\PROGRA~2\Citrix\ICACLI~1\WFICA32.EXE
Faulting module path: VDGUSBN.DLL
Report Id: 9fb2984c-317d-4e35-9502-f547e86b7013
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

I can force the app to crash simply by copying something--anything-- (as in, using control-V) to the clipboard.  Even a blank Excel cell.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Based on what the interwebs has told me I've tried stopping the print spooler, etc., etc., with no joy.  Thanks!
