Citrix Virtual Apps 7 2006 - FSLOgix Container Search Index corrupts every few days

Hello

 

I am hoping that someone can help us with this issue that we are experiencing with a number of users.  All of a sudden a user's search in Outlook stops working.  We check and see that indexing is running and it is indexing a very large number of items.   We will delete the .edb file for the user after going into the FSLogix VHDX in the Wsearch folder and then the mailbox reindexes and this time it shows a much lower number of items, it can take a while to reindex and once it completes the search starts to work.  Then after a couple of days or so the issue comes back, the search is not working and indexing is active and it is indexing a large number of items.  Again the only fix is to stop search service and or log user out and delete out the .edb file.  It is getting really annoying and have been searching for some sort of Permanent resolution and cannot find anything.  All settings for FSlogix are correct.  We are running Xenapp on Windows Server 2016.   If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this issue it will be greatly appreciated.

Server 2019 has a new Search configuration for FSLogix which disables Search Roaming in FSLogix as it is provided for in Server 2019. That may work better than the Server 2016 implementation.

 

Considering that is on a longer path for you to move to Server 2019 I have notes indicating this is a known issue even with Server 2019. It is suggested that simply restarting the Windows Search Service resolves. This regenerates the index. It is suggested to configure Task Scheduler to trigger on corruption event id and automatically restart service. Application - Search-ProfileNotify - Event ID 2. Powershell.exe, Arguments: Restart-Service Wsearch
