How to prevent removing taskbar shortcuts on logoff

Question

A couple of users working on 2 sessions with different localy installed applications. For example:

Session A Server 2019) Installed Google Chrome

Session B Windows 10 VDI) NOT installed Chrome

Now user has created a shortcut of chrome on session A to the taskbar. So far so good.

If user logs on to session B, the taskbar is clean (no blank icon in taskbar). User logs on to session A and the taskbar is still clear.

How is it possible to prevent removing unused shortcuts from taskbar ? Is it a option in Citrix Profilemanagerment ?

I would suggest two profiles, one profile per OS.

Because all application data is now in the profile and isn't working.

So if you set Chrome as default, that won't work on the Windows 10 VDI.

Thank you - thinking that would be the best solution. I've searched the registry and found that Windows 10 and Server 2019 stores its pinned icons in different keys. The shortcuts are still in it's place, but won't be pinned to the taskbar. Very strange.

Have a nice weekend.
