Please wait for the user profile service


Running windows 2016, 1912 CU2 VDA. We have a subset of servers hosting published apps in a secured environment. These servers cannot communicate outside of their vlan since everything is blocked on the firewall.  We are experiencing long logins where launching the published app hangs on "waiting for the user profile service" for 30+ seconds. I have identified the issue, it is related to the home folder mapping in the user's AD account.  The home folder file server is not accessible from these servers.  I can reproduce the issue via RDP connection to these secured servers.  Unfortunately removing the home folder mapping from the AD accounts is not an option, though this fixes the issue during my testing. Are there any  patches, settings, GPO, registry, etc that can be applied to skip AD home folder mapping or reduce the timeout before continuing the login?
