ADC vServer connection processing time

Recommended Posts

For web insight, you will get time spent on server-side vs. client-side for web performance only (requires appflow + adm for lb vserver of type HTTP/SSL only).

If you just want to see packet processing time, run an nstrace with -link enabled (trace filtered traffics peer connections) and you should see timestamps for request to vip and snip outbound as well.

nstrace - see the adc admin guide: https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-adc/current-release/system/troubleshooting-citrix-adc/how-to-record-a-packet-trace-on-citrix-adc.html

System > Diagnostics:: start nstrace (or run nstrace in right hand pane)

Set parameters for packet size, trace format (pcap)

Then set in filter your connection.ip.<details>  to filter traffic from a given client ip (to limit size of trace)

And select "Trace Filtered Connections Peer Traffic" under the expression box.

Adjust other parameters as needed if traffic is SSL

And run the trace.

After the trace is done, you can hit stop trace and download all from GUI.

Traces go to /var/nstrace/

For ADM web insight, you need a Citrix ADM deployed, enable the ADC for management by ADM, then use the steps to configure AppFlow Web Insight logging to get perfromance data. Note Web insight is for web vservers only, if non-web it won't help.
