Services not starting after schedule reboot of XenApp 2012R2 servers.

Shane Paul

Question

Hello everyone.

After a couple years of doing scheduled reboots on the 2012R2 scheduled servers in this farm running XenApp 7.15 CU6, we have started getting a few services that won't start causing the servers to not accept incoming connections and kicking out/but not ending sessions for the people that had sessions on that server thus making it impossible for them to reestablish a session on a good server until we reboot the affected target device.

The services in question are the Network Store Interface Service, Windows Font Cache Service, Network List Service, WinHTTP Web Proxy Service and the Network Connection Broker Service, all stuck at Starting as shown in the attached screen shot.

For reference sake, we are using PVS.

Thanks and appreciate all suggestions of reasons why all the sudden these services won't start.

Respectfully,

Shane Paul
