Citrix PVS 7.24 (1912 LTSR CU2) -- EFI system partition (ESP) error: Unsupported Streaming aborted.

Tom Swift

New deployment using Citrix Provisioning (1912 LTSR CU2)

Using BDM (Boot Device Manager) ISO as first booted device in VMware

1.  VMware ESXi 7.0

2.  Windows 2019 ISO

3.  Build new machine (2 vCPU, 4gb RAM, 50gb C: Drive, VMXNET3)

4.  Installed VMware tools

5.  Windows updates applied

6.  Domain joined

7.  VM editted, VM Options, Boot Options, Force BIOS setup

8.  Disable all boot devices except CD-ROM (tried to changing boot order first so CD was first but didn't make difference)

9.  VM editted to attach PVSBOOT.ISO which was created using PVS Boot Device Manager

10.  Error - EFI system partition (ESP) error: Unsupported Streaming aborted

If machine is built using Legacy BIOS firmware then there are no problems at all booting using Boot Device Manager.

Was the vDisk originally created on a EFI machine?

Just to be Clear, i if i currently have Windows 2012R2 PVS image that was created with BIOS,

can i take same image and change it to EFI? Every time i change VM settings from Bios to EFI i get unsupported stream, if i change it to Bios it all works.

I'm using BDM ISO

Sounds like in order for EFI to work image needs to be captured from VM that was created using  EFI enabled VM, is this correct?

Is there an easy way to change an existing Image that's Bios based to EFI?

Thank you,
