Black Screen

Question

Hi, we have 2016 RDSH VDAS running on one domain and when sessions are disconnected after reconnection the applications dont display (we only see black screens). The applications are there and are connected to Workspace app but you cannot interact with the apps as you only see a black window. 

 

This does not happy with out 2012R2 published apps servers and also does not happen with our 2016 servers on out second domain.  (Reconnection to these all funtion fine and we can see the screen).

 

The servers all have the Windows latest CU and I have also recently updated the VDAs to CU6(LTSR 7.15) to see if this resolves the issue but it doesnt. 

 

Has anyone else experienced this issue, know a fix or know what the next best troubleshooting steps?

Are the users experiencing this issue using a laptop connected to a docking station/other monitor(s)?

We are having the same issue. Published apps are just black screens after reconnection, but desktop sessions from the same delivery groups hangs in "Other user - Welcome" screen. When I disconnect this desktop session again, next reconnect gives an error message "The task you are trying to do can't be completed because Remote Desktop Services is currently busy. Please try again in a few minutes. Other users should still be able to log on."

In our case this happens with 2016 and 2019 servers, VDA 2009 running on Nutanix AHV cluster. Strange thing is that we don't have the same issue with delivery groups running on ESXi cluster (2016 servers and VDA 2009).

After logging session off user can start a new session normally.
