SQL Database disk crashed, and SQL DBs got wiped

Zafer Shoukat

Question

We have had a catastrophic failure of a volume on our SQL server, which hosts the 3 DBs that are created by Citrix, the logging, monitoring and the site ones.

Unfortunately the SQL admin guy hadn't got around to creating any SQL maintenance plans, nor had he backed them up via the backup software, as we found out when we tried to recover them from some old backups.

Now all 3 DBs are stuck in a recovery pending state in SQL, and I am not sure how the farm is going to cope without being able to read/write to these DBs.

How do I go about recovering these from the local host caches, or whatever I need to do.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
