Citrix WAF configuration for Microsoft OWA

Question

Hi Folks,

We have our OWA load balancing  server running on the Citrix ADC.  We have the requirement to configure the WAF for OWA server. The user works via OWA as follows:-

1.User types the OWA url - mail.xxx.xxx

2.OWA url redirects to the ADFS login page

3. After submitting credentials, user will be able to access mails.

Can we apply the WAF rules for the above scenario and what are the best practices to configure the WAF for OWA.

Thanks in advance.

First have you seen the links below as you will need to do SSL decryption to protect the app:

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-adc/current-release/ssl/how-to-articles/configure-support-for-outlook-web-access.html

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-adc/current-release/appexpert/http-callout/use-case-owa-spam-filtering.html

Alsp for the WAF there is an old article for OWA 2013 but still can be used for the newer versions:

Just as info If you have a gateway you can also add Web sso:

Also check what are the latest available Web Interface AppExpert templates from Citrix as they may have something for OWA that will ease your life.
