nsload.exe high CPU usage

We are experiencing an issue where the Citrix gateway plugin is reporting high CPU usage.  nsload.exe typically runs <1%.  But for some users it will frequently rise much higher.  If it gets to anything above 20%, this is causing us a problem.


Troubleshooting is difficult as we have split tunnelling disabled, so many different types of traffic going through the VPN connection.


Any suggestions on what types of system/network activity could cause a spike in nsload.exe CPU utilisation?


Are there any optimisation settings we can put in place to ensure the gateway plugin runs smoothly?


Generally if we were disconnect/reconnect the VPN session, nsload.exe returns to a normal CPU usage.  It tends to ramp up over time when the problem occurs.
