BCR doesn't work on VDA 7.17.17097

Anatoly Nefedov

Question

VDA 7.17.17097, OS Windows Server 2016
CWA 20.6.0.38, OS Windows 10

I'm trying to configure BCR for youtube.com, but the extension's icon in Chrome is always grey.
I see that all required services (Browser Redirection, HTML5 redirection and Port forwarding) are running on VDA side. I checked WS requests in extensions's background page and found that when I open youtube in browser, extension sends request to 127.0.0.1:9001 - {"v":"querypolicy","url":"https://www.youtube.com/","tabId":2}, but doesn't get any response.
Using CDFControl tool I found the following lines:

226    1    2020/09/03 03:43:06:52976    4952    7060    -1    ***        535        0        Agent::Connection::process_json()(10) WS >>> {"v":"querypolicy","url":"https://www.youtube.com/","tabId":6}
227    1    2020/09/03 03:43:06:52982    4952    7060    -1    ***        728        0        Agent::Connection::process_json(10): Unexpected 'v' received: 'querypolicy'

One more weird fact is that I configure Policies in Citrix Studio but changes which I made are not applied to WebBrowserRedirectionAcl in \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\HdxMediastream, but the key itself is created. It seems I already tried everything I found in the internet but BCR isn't working for me.

Hi,

Never said that CR is beta, but you are expected to update CR if you are running CR, you cannot install CR version, and expect to get support 2 years later on that version.

7.17 is what now, 8-9 version old.

CVAD 1903 is end of life 28 Sept 2020,

https://www.citrix.com/support/product-lifecycle/product-matrix.html

Which mean that your version is end of life already.

If you are running CR you need to update every 3-4 month, if you don't have time for that you need to stick with LTSR, which is version 1912.
