Users get console screen with no logon field randomly

Edwin ten Haaf1709160316

Question

Hello All,

Currently working on an issue where users are unable to reconnect to their vdi desktop randomly.

The session gets connected to the vdi but there is no passthrough or credentials field showing.

Director shows HDX as connection type so it's not the console I assume.

The client side is windows 10 based(1809) with Imprivata Onesign(7.2) and Citrix Workspace App 19.12.0.19 LTSR using the fastconnect api

We cannot reproduce the issue and seems to happen randomly.

Currently testing 19.12.1000.1063 CU1 LTSR on some clients.

Any tips or advice on this issue is welcome.

Found this fixed issue in the release notes but I'm not shure what they mean with 'Splash screen'.

'When you use single sign-on in a VDA environment, a splash screen might appear. The issue occurs when you upgrade Citrix Workspace app for Windows to version 1911 or later. [CVADHELP-14590]'

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-workspace-app-for-windows/1912-ltsr/whats-new/fixed-issues.html

Anyone knows where [CVADHELP-14590]' relates to ?  Citrix Internal support system code ?

Thanks in advance,

Edwin

Hi Edwin,

It looks like we have the same problem here. Does it solve the problem by upgrading the workspace app on the endpoint to 1912 CU1?

Hi avan_ba622,

The issue started after the installation of these updates/hotfixes

Update                  KB4565632     https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4565632/kb4565632-cumulative-update-for-net-framework
Security Update  KB4558998     https://support.microsoft.com/nl-nl/help/4558998/windows-10-update-kb4558998
Security Update  KB4558997     https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4558997/servicing-stack-update-for-windows-10-version-1809

User could not reconnect to their disconnected sessions randomly and they had black screens.

As this looked like a imprivata issue we update onesign to 7.2 and citrix workspace to 19.12.1000.1063 CU1

The black screen disapeared and now the users are randomly seeing the lock screen with sometimes no credentials field. But if it's there user are unable to authenticate.

As we are using single signon and onesign with smart card this credential screen shouldn't be there anyway.

If you make any progress on this issue please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Edwin

Hi Edwin,

Thanks for your reply; do you have set the setting below in your GPO on the VDA side?

Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL ->       Disabled

On this moment we try to log the issue in the imprivata logs, and after that we will creat a imprivata support case. Like you wrote before the issue is randomly so it take some times.

We have the same problem no login credential fields. Without closing the first opened application window with no fields, we open/run the application again, then the credentials show up.

User can close the first window or instance of the application.

Any solution?
