Virtual IP loopback breaks Browser Content Redirection

Holger Scheele

Question

Hi folks.

We changed our Main App from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome.

The App comunicate with his server through localhost.

Every user needs an unique IP for kommunkation.

We are using Virtual IP loopback support from Citrix - and chrome.exe in the program list.

Our Main App works perfekt, everything works as expectet.

But we are using Google Chrome with Browser Content Redirection.

And Browser Content Redirection dosnt work anymore !

The Citrix AddOn in Google Chrome is Red - Error: WebSocket Connection lost.

When i remove chrome.exe from the Virtual IP loopback program list, everything in BCR is OK.

What can i do.

Citrix gave me the answer for my call:

I had to find the architect (person who designed and wrote the code from scratch) of websocketservice.

They have confirmed that this is by design and it cannot be modified right away.
I have raised an enhancement request RFE ID-009941. You may refer this ID in your furure interactions with Citrix to track the status of this request.

I have analysed it some more.

without Virtual IP chrome.exe calls WebSocketService.exe on local host (127.0.0.1)

and WebSocketService.exe accept the Call

with Virtual IP aktive chrome.exe calls WebSocketService.exe again on local host - now with 127.0.0.1+SessionID

this is normal and expectet. But WebSocketService.exe only accept 127.0.0.1

The Problem is, WebSocketService.exe dosn't run in the user context.

I have tried to put WebSocketService.exe in the Virtual IP Policy.

It changed nothing.

I fear the two technologies dosnt work together.

I am having a similar issue but with different software app.

Did you ever get this working?
