SecureMail Contact Export Failed

Question

I have a single iOS user who is reporting that when they try to sync Secure Mail contacts with their local contacts, they get a message that says 'Contact export failed'.  This issue has existed for the user on 2 different iPhones, on multiple iOS versions. This same user is able to sync contacts on their iPad without issues. Has anyone seen this before?

After much trial and error, I was able to resolve the issue by going to Settings < Contacts, and changing the Default Account from my personal email account to my iCloud account. After doing so, the Secure Mail contact export worked as expected. I was able to change the default account back after the export completed.
