Xen Hypervisor 8.1 express edition installation results in grub rescue at boot time

Niculae Alexandru

I own an HP ML330G6 server for my day to day needs. Today i decided to update to Hypervisor 8.1 as none of the security updates or any other updates were installing to 7.6 express edition that i currently run. The install it's being done on an SDXC card with the capacity of 120Gb. All things are smooth until the actual boot into the new install. I get the grub rescue screen and only one of the 6 partitions it's readable by grub. That partition has no boot value.

I also tried disabling GPT support in constants.py and relaunching the install with no success. The same screen. Checked if DOS partitioning was done and it was done. Now i am looking at the old HDD with Hypervisor 7.6 and it has GPT partitioning and it works fine...

Can someone give me a hint on what could possibly go wrong here? Could be the SDXC card?
