How to migrate SF,DDC and keep IP and hostname

ding tong

Question

Our old environment uses Windows 2008R2. Now I want to migrate the service to windows 2016. My idea is to install a DDC and SF in the new environment, then delete one of the SF or DDC groups, change the new machine to the previous IP and host name to join the domain, and then join the group. Whether DDC or SF migration can be completed by using this method?

Hi,

I think best solution is add the new DDC(2016) in to old  Citrix fams (2008R2)

and than remove a delivery controller(old) from the site.  Remove the controllers from Storefront first, then from studio.  Any VDAs registered to the controller should re-register with the remaining controllers, however this may take a few minutes, so a resource that hasn't registered yet might be unavailable for a relatively short time.

Same thing you can do with the StoreFront server add the new SF and remove from SF. Also remove from load balancer if you have any.

Thanks

Manoj

Hi,

DDC

Yes you can please form the documents below for Remove a Controller

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xenapp-and-xendesktop/7-6-long-term-service-release/xad-controller-intro/xad-controller-change.html

This is another article to Remove orphaned, deleted, failed Delivery Controller from a XenApp or XenDesktop site.

Storefront
