start a team meeting from secure mail

Thomas Mampuumlller

Question

We use teams, Secure Mail, Secure Web and Secure Hub one on the iPad.

If I want to start a team meeting from the calendar by clicking on the link, I get the error message on the iPad:

Secure Web cannot open the page because the address is invalid.

If I don't set up the mail account via Citrix, but as an Exchange account in the Passwords and Accounts section, the link is accepted and the Teams app starts the meeting.

What is the problem?

Best regards

Hi Thomas,

you need to modify in SecureWeb the Allowed URLs and adding the App URL Scheme to it. In case of Teams it is +msteams:

So the full string could be

^http:,^https:,^mailto:=ctxmail:,+^ctxmailex:,+^ctxmailex2:,+^citrixreceiver:,+^telprompt:,+^tel:,+^col-g2m-2:,+^col-g2w-2:,+^col-g2t-2:,+^maps:ios_addr,+^mapitem:,+^itms-apps:,+^itms-appss:,+^ctx-sf:,+^lmi-g2m:,+^lync:,+^msteams:

Hello Thomas,

I am using SecureWeb mdx file 19.12.5.

After adding +^msteams: to the "Allowed URL" inside the SecureWeb mdx file you also have to make sure Secure Web reaches the Internet.

Open MS Teams Link in Secure Mail -> Secure Web opens Link -> Internet -> MS Teams download webpage -> Secure Web passes Meeting URL to (unwrapped) MS Teams App -> MS Teams Apps starts Session.

Hi,

i don't have an Android phone with me, so I'm not able to check it.

However, the above solution seems not work for all ipads. Issue is that on tablets with a large resolution Microsoft things that this must be a computer.

A customer has send me the following:

Under App URL Schemes add com.microsoft.skype.teams&+//teams.microsoft.com
Under Allowed URLs add +//teams.microsoft.com however make sure to add before the http:=ctxmobilebrowser

I could imagine that this works for android as well, as this is giving over everything to the native browser.

However, I was not able to test it, so up to your own risk :)

We got this working by adding the below to the SecureWeb MDX policy Restricted Open-in exception list :

{action=android.intent.action.VIEW scheme=msteams package=com.microsoft.teams}

HI

Thank you that's great and its worked a treat.

Many thanks for your help

Finally, as of Secure Mail MDX version 20.10.0 opening MS Teams meetings from Secure Mail directly is officially supported and documented (https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-secure-mail/whats-new.html)

Do I Have to set these Options in the Secure Mail App or in the Secure Web App? I didn't get this working... :-(
