XenApp Black Screen - 7.15 LTSR CU5

Question

Read through all the CTX articles and posts, but everything appears to be limited to older version of XD and VDA.

Our one user initially started experiencing this, and we were still on 7.15 LTSR RTM.

Upgraded our environment to 7.15 CU5, but issue persists.

VDA has been upgraded.

Issue only occurs for user accessing published app via Citrix Access Gateway and using Citrix Workspace.

 

It is not a consistent issue. Some times he has no issues, other times he just gets the black screen.

I was able to reproduce the blackscreen once, and it just never did load up the published app.

 

As we are on CU5, none of the posts or articles seem to relate.

Not sure what to look at.

Reboot of the server tends to resolve it.

 

There are a number of VDI that do not experience any issues, so it appears to be isolated to the published app.

2 Server 2016 VMs running Broker services with 7.15 CU5.
1 Server 2012R2 VM running Storefront 3.12.5000.134

1 Server 2016 VM running 7.15 CU5 VDA for published app.

Published app is nothing more than an IE session loading a particular internal web app.

Access Gateway via NetScaler NS12.1 55.18.nc

User is accessing from several different locations and machines. User is not an employee, just accessing our system to enter data. User is using Windows 10. On at least one machine has been updated with the latest version of Workspace via user's IT dept.

We could not repro this issue on 7.15 RTM & 7.15 CU5. The black screen doesn’t occur  when launch published apps. please add if anything missing

 

 

[Env]

DDC1: en2016 + XD 7.15 RTM  →  XD 7.15 CU5

DDC2: en2016 + XD 7.15 RTM  →  XD 7.15 CU5

VDA:   en2016 + XA 7.15 RTM   →  XA  7.15 CU5

SF:       en2k12r2 +  SF 3.12.0.17   →  SF 3.12.5000.134

Client:  win10x64 + Citrix WorkSpace  

 

[Steps]

1.       Deploy a standalone storefront with 2 controllers joined.

2.       Configured NetScaler Gateway.

3.       Launch published apps via Citrix Workspace and Citrix Access Gateway for many times

What you have listed does look accurate for what we have done.

I was able to repro the issue once, but that was prior to the upgrade. Since then I had found that WorkSpace is not listed as being compatible with 7.15 RTM, so I scheduled the upgrade first.

It has been about a week since the last reported issue. Maybe things have situated themselves...
