Grey screen when connecting to Desktop (Workspace 19.12.0.23 (1912) and Catalina 10.15.3 (19D76))

Question

I've installed the latest version of the workspace app on my Mac OS Version 10.15.3 (19D76). I have the required Certificates and login information is correct. 

 

Here is what happens. I open workspace app and login, my credentials are accepted and the workspace app shows me my desktop icon. I double click on the icon to start the session and it opens the normal Citrix window and I can see the mouse pointer but the rest of the screen is all dark grey.
