Confused with which applications to install and from where to install for accessing an application exists on windows server?

Irfan Ahmed1709161680

Question

I am new to the citrix, my requirement is to access the application installed on windows server. I initially thought to go with Windows terminal service first, But I preferred Citrix after reading about it.

Requirement:

Access the application by upto 5 users, may be concurrent / one by one

FYI - Application is graphical rich and receives heavy files for processing

Cloud services are not required

Users need to access the application over WAN

Confusion:

I am not sure which application(s) I need to install to get this done i:e XenApp, XenDesktop, Receiver or any other

Where to get any evaluation/Trial version link? I craeted an account and when I try to download, they say I do not have special permissions

Please guide.

The Citrix software is Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD). You need at least one Controller (with StoreFront) and one VDA. The VDA is where the apps run from. In your size environment, both Controller and VDA can be installed on the same machine.

Users use Workspace App to connect to StoreFront.

If you need Internet-based access, then you'll also need a Citrix Gateway appliance.

To get a trial, contact your local Citrix Partner.
