Does Citrix Workspace support the Thursby Sub Rosa SDK? (FIPS Smart Cards)

Jimmy Raborn

Question

Does Citrix Workspace support the Thursby Sub Rosa SDK on iPads? If not, can someone suggest a Smart Card middleware that does work?

We've been using Tactivo mini Smart Card readers on our iPads without the need for a middleware but since we started getting new FIPS Smart Cards, the iPads can't see the certs natively.

I have a Thursby Smart Card with Sub Rosa (not the pro version). Through Sub Rosa, I can connect to our Storefront and launch a published app or desktop but when I get to the logon screen, the Smart Card Reader is unavailable.

These are the steps to reproduce the behavior we're seeing:

1: Start Sub Rosa using the Thursby Reader and my Smart Card inserted. I have white and blue indicator lights.

2: I enter the address to our Citrix Storefront.

3: I accept my certificate, then enter my PIN.

4: I click a Citrix Application or Desktop.

Sub Rosa asks what to do with the link.

5: I click “Copy to Workspace”

Indicator lights on the Thursby Reader go out.

     The Citrix Session starts.

No Smart Card is available to authenticate with the published App/Desktop.

     No bueno.
