Session Recording Configuration logging console is empty when TLS 1.0 disabled

Oleg Mikheenko

We have Citrix 7.15 site with Session Recording, all components were updated to CU4. All session recording components deployed on a single server, except its database, which is placed on a separated SQL server.

About two months ago, we received a task from our security team, to disable all encryption protocols prior to TLS 1.2. It was done and the system, as we thought, worked fine.

Citrix recommends disabling all protocols lower than TLS 1.1 https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xenapp-and-xendesktop/7-15-ltsr/monitor/session-recording/get-started/security-recommendations.html

quote: "Use TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2 (recommended) and disable SSLv2, SSLv3, TLS 1.0 on the Session Recording Server and Session Recording Database"

Recently we have noticed that the Session Recording Administrator Logging Console is empty (not a single record) and Session Recording Policy Console fails during connection to the SR Server.

by exception method, we were able to find the problem root.  It was a disabled TLS 1.0 protocol. After protocol was enabled through a registry issue was resolved, but this solution conflicts with company security requirements.

Is there a way to disable TLS 1.0 and at the same time get a working Session Recording
