RAM Cache fills when CDFControl tracing used

Andrew Parry

We are currently attempting to resolve an issue with random sessions not brokering (1903 with Server 2016 VDA on VMware if anyone has any input on this problem).

This has resulted in a long-running Citrix support call that ultimately requires CDF traces to be captured on the VDA side, however when I attempt to capture these traces

the 4GB RAM Cache and the 35GB Overflow disk is consumed within 25 minutes and the VDA becomes unresponsive.

I have attempted to capture the traces remotely but the same result happens.

Citrix support have advised that all modules are needed as the issue is so intermittent, but can I reduce to a subset? Will that reduce the overhead?

Next step I took was to seperate a VDA and use a different delivery group to capture the issue for a certain user but unfortunately the random nature of the problem means that a user may have an issue

one day, but next day there is no problem.

Has anyone got any tips for capturing CDF traces on a RAM-Cache enabled VDA without bricking the VDA?
