Problem with Citrix Hypervisor 8 connector

Marc-André Labonté

we are in the process of migrating our server to Citrix Hypervisor 8.0. First, we have migrate our test server. When i try to configure a connector for this server on Citrix Hypervisor 8, if we check "Use Secured Communications", we get the error "Failed to connect to the server at #.#.#.#". If we uncheck "Use Secured Communications" and "Ignore Certificate Errors", we can configure the connector.

We also can't check "Use HTTPS for File Transfers" in the connecter, because we cant talk in HTTPS with the server.

We have migrate the EML to 1908 to see if it solved the problem, with no luck.

Out other server with XenServer 7.6 work fine in HTTPS.

Anybody have an idea to make the HTTPS work with Citrix Hypervisor 8?

I assume you are connecting to a new Citrix Hypervisor 8 host, thus I ask if the proper ports are open, in particular 5900. Please see the below url with our port requirements.

Also, you could review the log file, /var/log/Unidesk/unidesk-xenserver-connector,log.json.log. You might see why we are failing.

Thanks Raymond for your answer. Sorry for the delay, i was on a long weekend.

I had try before posting to completely disable the firewall on the Hypervisor host with no luck. but i have tried to add an exception for that port again on the firewall and it isn't working.

I have looked on the logs ans here are the error i can see that cause the problem but i don't know how to solve this :

{"name":"XenServerClientFactory","hostname":"localhost.localdomain","pid":4340,"level":50,"reqNum":750,"msg":"Connection Error: A failure occurred connecting to Citrix Hypervisor. Error = write EPROTO 140247625111360:error:1407742E:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:tlsv1 alert protocol version:../deps/openssl/openssl/ssl/s23_clnt.c:769:\n","time":"2019-09-03T12:19:20.449Z","v":0}
