Hi,

The original problem was that all the WMs that was hosted on the slave were not able to boot up "error VDI not available" but the SR was still connected. I moved VMs on the master and was able to boot up. I reboot the slave and that is where it shows that the SR is disconnected.

Master can ping the slave including the floating ip

Slave can ping the master but not the floating ip

To the original question yes i can ping any device on the network but not the floating ip

arp will be with any networking device. On XenServer (CentOS) and most other devices

arp -a

if Master and Slave show different mac addresses for the same floating IP for storage

you won't be able to communicate. And likewise if storage has an incorrect entry

for your slave it won't work either.
