I am building new win10 1806 image and I would be deploying the new image with PVS. Would it work with existing Windows 7 profile and do I need to upgrade the profile management tool on Delivery controller AD? Do I have to manually move all Virtual desktop non-persistent profile created in Win 7 OS to Win10 or it will automatically grab and load the profile when user logs in to new Win10 VM assigned to them

Win10 profiles and Win7 profiles are incompatible. It is not supported to use Win7 profiles on Win10 machines. Win10 machines will have new profiles.

Profile Management is configured using group policy using a group policy template. If you update the Profile Management group policy template, then you unlock configurations for newer features. If you are using Citrix Policies in a GPO to configure UPM, then you can instead upgrade the Citrix Group Policy Management Plug-in to see the new settings.

Folder Redirection is the same for both operating systems. If you want the same settings on both operating systems, then make sure Folder Redirection is configured.

Many migration projects use scripts to copy settings (e.g. Office settings) from the old profiles to the new profiles.

Use Group policy to apply drive mappings and printer mappings.

Could profile manager co-exist to support Win7 and Win10 VMs at the same. If the new profile manger is backward compatible and does not impact the Win7 user the I could plan gradual migration of OS
