Change expired password in Storefront

Alvaro Ramiro Duro

Question

Hi all,

I have a problem, in case anyone has any solution.

I have configured the option "Username and password" in Citrix Storefront, in authentication methods, so that the user can change the password at any time.

But when the user has the password expired, Citrix Storefront does not give the option to change it, the message "Username and password expired" appears.

But when the user correctly accesses with username and password, the option to change password does appear.

I've been reviewing the problem and I don't see what is missing, could you help me?

Thank you.

A greeting

What is the value of AllowUserPasswordChange at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\Authentication\web.config? Is it “ALWAYS”?

 <explicitBL authenticator="win32Authenticator"
hideDomainField="true"
allowUserPasswordChange="Never"
allowZeroLengthPassword="false"
showPasswordExpiryWarning="Windows"
passwordExpiryWarningPeriod="10"
requireAccountSIDs="true">

Hello,

this CTX could help you https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX225873

Hi Setuky,

I read that Citrix article and it doesn't work for my problem.

My problem is only when the user has the password expired.

When the user logs into Citrix Storefont, the message "User and password expired" appears but does not give the option to change it.

Thank you.

Greetings.

Hello,

If you go storefront and go to Authentication > Manage Password Options.

do you have mark when expired or which option setting do you have?, fail in all stores?

Hello,

In the option "Manage password options", I have selected, "At any time".

But when the user with the password expired, access, the message "user and password expired" appears, but he cannot make the change.

I only have one store set up and it happens.

Thank you.

Greetings.

Hi,

If you reset a  user password and activate "must change password at next logon"  users can able to change their password at the Storefront login page?

Hi Setuky,

If I activate the user's account in Active Directory and set the option "The user must change the password at the next restart", Storefront gives the option to change the password correctly.

Why can it be that when the expired password is not the option to change the password?

Thank you.

A greeting.
