Smartcard authentication published webbrowser

Question

We have published IE11 and set the home page to our intranet site. To login you have to choose between username and password or smartcard.

The username password option works just fine but the smartcard option doesn't.

Locally it works fine. on a Xendesktop VDI it works fine and on a SHD (2012r2) its also working fine.

Wondering what the difference is between IE11 running as a published application and IE11 from a physical/virtual device?

Can you please elaborate your issue?

Are you getting prompt for credentials or not when you access the homepage in Published IE when you access using user name/password?

Are you getting prompt for Pin or not when you access the homepage in Published IE when you access using SmartCard?

Are you access using Receiver for web or Native Receiver?

Are you observed same behavior with both?

What are authentication mode you have enabled on Store and Store Web?

We have a choice on the homepage, either use PKI smartcard or use name/password.

When choosing name/password everything works fine.

When choosing PKI smartcard, the expected pin prompt does not appear. IE11 returns a DNS error and Chrome returns a SSL Handshake error.

Not completely sure what you mean by that
