Switching from 2 to 1 monitor leaves applications on second screen

Chris Hozee

Question

We run in to an issue where users pick up there session from 2 monitors to one. Applications that where open on the second screen are not visible. Users have to window there session to get the applications back on 1 screen. Anyone seen this and got it fixed?

Windows 10 x64 1803

VDA 1811

Thanks!

Hello,

Please test by implementing  SmartRestore and persistenceSettings keys as set them to 1 for a test. SmartRestore will ensure to restore layout based on client name.

On 32-bit Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PortICA\UxPersistence
Name: SmartRestore
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1

On 64-bit Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\PortICA\UxPersistence
Name: SmartRestore
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1

Key: HKLM\Software\Citrix\PortICA\UxPersistence
Value name: PersistenceSettings
Type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 0x1 or 0x3 or 0x7

SmartRestore makes sure lastClientName is set. Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Prerna Katyal

Its not an issue well if you open the application on multiple screen and switch back to single then simple you can do cascade windows to see all open application.

Right click or press and hold on the taskbar, and click/tap on Cascade windows or press the D key
