Nuwan Kaushalya Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Dear All, We are installed xenserver 7.0 in HP Synergy 480 Gen9 blade server since last year. Now this blade unexpectedly restarting time to time. Can anybody know the reason ?
Alan Lantz Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Hard to diagnose those. Make sure system time/time zone is correct. Make sure dom0 memory is sized right (especially if the host was an upgrade), make sure all firmware for your server is up to date. If none of these help you may want to consider upgrading. Maybe someone else out there can verify their system is stable. Also, if you can run hardware diagnostics, memory and cpu issues can cause this as well. --Alan--
Nuwan Kaushalya Posted May 24, 2019 Author Posted May 24, 2019 Hi, There are some docker VMs run on this host. is that can reason for this unexpected reboot ? because we note every time host reboot after we power up these docker VMs. can some one knows about an any impact about run docker VM in xenserver host ?
Alan Lantz Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Yea, I don't know, I've never done anything with docker. --Alan--
Tobias Kreidl Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 That should not matter what VMs are running as long as they are compatible with the particular version of XenServer you are running. Is this a pool and if so are all hosts synchronized properly to NTP? I found XS 7.0 not the most stable system, and frankly I would upgrade to a newer version of 7.X -- anything 7.1 or above. We run a mix of 7.1 LTSR and 7.6 at present and do not see such issues. -=Tobias
