Xenserver 6.1 license expired

We have a xenserver that we can not start VM.

This article states https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX123999

When Free XenServer license expires, all the running Virtual Machines continue to execute without interruption or loss of functionality. Hosts with expired licenses cannot start new Virtual Machines, and when restarted with an expired license then you cannot auto-start any Virtual Machines marked for auto-start. For more information, contact Customer Service.

This sound like I cannot create a vm and auto-start no longer works.  However I am unable to start a VM.  Is there any way to get a license as a stop gap while we upgrade xenserver and or the hardware.  I did remove server from manage vApp so they were not in the auto-start group.

Thanks,

Dave

The consensus online is to download a XenDestkop trial license and with it you can license your XenServer unlimited.

In an emergency if you have nothing time sensitive you could backdate the server as well.
