Linux VDA Ubuntu 18.04 LTS - Grey Screen

Lucas Salamin

Question

Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops : 19.03

Hypervisor : vmware ESXi 6.7

Guest OS :  Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS (Desktop)

VDA : LinuxVDA-1903.ubuntu18.04.deb

Hello,

I'm facing the grey screen problem when I log my Ubuntu 18.04 VM using Citrix Virtual Desktop.

I tried the easy install and the manual procedure (https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/linux-virtual-delivery-agent/current-release/installation-overview/ubuntu.html) but with both I have the same issue.

I tried the following workarounds :

https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/390390-ubuntu-1604-cannot-log-in/

And the one described in the easy install :

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install unity lightdm

Add the following line to /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf:
greeter-show-manual-login=true

Additionnal info :

I switched from gdm3 to lightdm.

In the pam-auth-update the "Create home directory login" option is selected.

The Ubuntu VM is correctly added to the domain and I can log on with AD User credentials (from ESXi Console).

I also can SSH using AD User credentials.

My hdx.log file is attached.

Thanks in advance!
