EDT causing issue on AT&T cellular network

We started experiencing some customers trying to use virtual apps instead of virtual desktops on the AT&T cellular network. When they try to launch the application they get "HdxSdkErrorDomain_Session error 8". If we disable EDT on the phone itself (under adv settings) or on the server, the problem no longer exists. EDT works fine if the phone is on a wireless network.

I see some mentions of this issue but it references Netscaler 11. We are on Netscaler 12.

Environment

  • 2012 R2 VDA
  • 7.15 CU3 LTSR
  • Netscaler VPX 12.0.53.6

A few questions:

  • Does EDT work well when accessing virtual desktops instead or virtual apps on the cellular network? If so, what's different between the virtual apps and virtual desktops? What is the OS and VDA version of the virtual desktops?
  • Can you please validate that all the STA servers defined in Storefront are also defined in the Gateway vserver?
  • Are the mobile devices Android or iOS?
  • What version of Workspace app?

EDT works well for apps and desktops OFF the cellular network. We have narrowed this down to AT&T only. We turned off EDT and it has been working since then for this customer. STA are all valid and green in the gateway and t his was IOS. Not too sure on the Workspace app version other than the helpdesk told me they made sure it was the latest.

It's possible that the DTLS/EDT packets are being fragmented and not handled properly in the cellular network, thus causing issues with establishing sessions. Try lowering the MSS for EDT to 1350 - 1400 to see if it fixes the issue. You can find details on how to do this in CTX231821.

If you try this, please let me know how it goes.
