Management Network and other Network Re-configuration

Reyn Moran

Question

I am considering re-configuring the networks for our 2 Xen hosts. I have done this before in setting up the hosts the first time, but it has been a while to say the least. If I remember correctly there is a certain method for re-configuring the management ports (cli I think) and then the rest is just getting into Xen Center and re-configuring the non-management networks (re-configuring the host networks and assigning the networks to the vm's). Is there something I am missing?

Depending on whether you keep the bond and add in another NIC into the bond, you'll be either  substituting in a NIC into that bond or creating a whole different primary management interface. Either way, you can retain the bond and deal with it later, depending on whether or not you still need it. If you temporarily end up with three NICs in the bond, you can remove the unneeded one later. Everything might temporarily disappear from XenCenter, depending on which process you pick, but it should refresh OK.
