Find XenServer previous version after an upgrade

Ceacutedric Sadowski

Question

Hi everybody,

I have a special question : is it possible to find the XenServer previous version after an upgrade (other than put the previous release DVD and reboot the host) ?

Or just know if it was an upgrade or a fresh install ?

The question seems stupid but I need to have this information because I have encountered a bug with NTP on Citrix XenServer 7.2 and it seems to concern only hosts previously upgraded (fresh installed hosts are not concerned).

Can you help me please ?

Regards

For one, you can start the installer and see if it comes up showing a previous release, which if present, you have the ability to revert to, if you so choose.

I suppose you could mount that extra partition and poke around to see, as well. The current install should be in the file /etc/redhat-release
