Xensever 7.5 Windows 10 VGA resolutions

Paul Theuma

Question

On Xenserver 7.5 creating a machine with wndows 10 you only get  a limited amount of resolutions. Was looking at setting the VDI at 1920x1080 but can get 1920x1200 if i change the UUID settings as follows

xe vm-param-set uuid=073c2828-e16e-9074-0a78-62a51d59a7a5 platform:vga=std
xe vm-param-set uuid=073c2828-e16e-9074-0a78-62a51d59a7a5 platform:videoram=8

Which will give me a raft of resolutions except 1920x1080, does anybody know if this can be done please.

Thank you

Paul

I am just using RDP to connect to the VDIs, even in the article it has at the bottom

"Yes, 1920x1080 is not a part of the standard set of resolutions for VGA driver. The closest one would be 1920x1200. You would need to use a GPU card which supports such resolution, setup a pass-through mode and install the drivers for that GPU in guest OS. – dezlov Feb 20 '15 at 16:01 "
