Allan Carlo

Question

Prezados,

Unfortunately you are in a bad situation. Perhaps opening a case with Citrix and purchasing support someone there

can generate at least a temporary license for you, but Citrix no longer provides any licensing for 6.0.2 since it has

been out of mainstream support for years.

After your license expires you will probably be unable to start a VM once it has been shut down so you need

to do something quickly.

Perhaps some local consultant would have a spare server they could setup XenServer 7.x on and get your  VM's

exported and imported.

Unfortunately, the time to be able to get a temporary license extension for XenServer 6.5 and below is already expired. Your only choice for a free version is to upgrade to teh current release, 7.6. You cannot migrate directly to 7.6, meaning you will have to stop production temporarily and export your VMs, upgrade, and import them back in meaning som edowntime. You should also first make sure your hardware can run XenServer 7.6 OK.

XS 6.0.2 will continue to run but is unsupported, you cannot change any VMs, and you won't get any fixes or security updates.

Sorry, but this does not leave many options. for you.

Perhaps with two servers you could run all of the VM's on one ? Once all of the VM's are exported off and leaving one empty

you could clean install XenServer 7.6 on it and start the process of export/import to get VM's over to the XenServer 7.6. Don't

forget to upgrade the XenTools as well. Then repeat once the other server has been evacuated.  I am assuming VM storage

is on a local SR.
