Nicolas Maury Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Hello, From SDX, I need to modify a VPX instance and add a new VLAN to a data interface (Menu Instance, Network Settings, Configure Data Interface --> VLANs). After new VLAN is added to data interface, does the SVM reboot the modified VPX instance? Thanks for your help ! Regards.
CarlStalhood Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I think adding a VLAN to VLAN Filtering causes a reboot. You could create a new instance and test it. Or do it on your secondary.

Nicolas Maury Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Duly noted, thanks a lot for your answers !
Diego Oliveira Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Hi I needed to modify a VPX instance today to add other data interface. And caused VPX to reboot.
José Paez Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Hello, because when adding a new vlan from the sdx the vpx appliance restarts, could this vlan be added directly to the GUI interface of the vpx without it restarting?
CarlStalhood Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 If you don't have any VLANs configured on the SDX side, then yes you can add VLAN inside the instance. If you have any VLANs configured in the SDX side, then only those VLANs can be used inside the instance.

Hello, Carl, thank you very much for your answer, my doubt is as follows; if I declare the new vlan only in the sdx, and then I enter the vpx GUI to assign it this vlan. Question ?: Would the vpx be restarted just like when the vlan is added at the sdx level? because I do not want to restart the instance. greetings thanks in advance
CarlStalhood Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Adding a VLAN inside the instance does not reboot the instance.
