Citrix SSO fails to initialize VPN after entering credentials

After entering my username, password, and token correctly I get the following message in Citrix SSO - "Couldn't initialize VPN". I'm on OSX Mojave 10.14.1.

 

I've tried reinstalling the app multiple times to no avail. Oddly enough installing the app on my iPad works and I can establish a VPN connection to my work.

 

Any thoughts?
