Scaling issue DELL U3818DW

NoKnowName

Question

Hi all,

I am is using the the Monitor DELL U3818 DW with a resolution of 3840 x 1600. When connecting to a Windows 10 VDI (1803) displayed in full screen dpi scaling looks always like 200+ except if you open the start menu and UWP apps, they looks like 100 DPI. Means desktops icons, explorer, taskbar, mouse pointer and most applications windows really really huge.

Following this article does not change anything https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX230017. Changing settings for wfica.exe or/and cdviewer.exe has also no effect.

Workarounds:

Changing DPI in the session fix the issue till next login.

After a fresh login pressing Ctrl+Shift+Win+B in full screen fixes the issue till next login.

XenDesktop/virtual desktops 7.18, but issue also present in 7.17,16.

Citrix Receiver 4.12, also tried 4.11, 4.10 and 1809

Windows 10 1803 on both sides (Client and VDI), also tried 1809 on client side

Hypervisor VMware ESXi, 6.5 Update 2

Any suggestions?

We have the same problem. But so far no solution

Windows 10 1803 Client and VDI side.

VDA 1808 and VDA 7.15 CU2 tested.

Hypervisor VMWare ESXi 5.5 U3.

Monitor PHL BDM3470 with 3440 x 1440 screen solution.

Tested on Citrix Workspace 1809, Receiver 4.9 CU2, 4.4 CU4

Do you find a Solution?

In our case we are using a laptop which is connected to the Dell Monitor and we have the assumption that this could  be an issue with the internal laptop display, which is in the citrix session the primary display even if the lid is closed. If disable the internal display via device manager and the open a new citrix session the scaling is fine (not during login phase, but if the desktop is shown).  As said just an assumption need still more to investigate.
