Citrix connection interrupted, will try and reconnect in 5 minutes

Aaron Antczak

Question

We need to get this resolved. We've been experiencing this problem for well over a year now. In a medical environment where our providers and nurse staff heavily rely on this tool in order to complete patient charts we cannot have the instability. We've worked with you directly on this before and gathered log after log on the clients experiencing the issue. We have good wireless coverage in our hospital and surrounding clinics and have tested with satisfactory results.

I'm working on enabling the local event log capture but having some issues doing so. I ask that Citrix engineers and developers please assist us all with this issue.

Here's a snapshot of our environment:

Windows 7 Enterprise x64 (some are x86 but a very small amount of them)

Citrix Receiver 4.3.100.10 - This should be expanded to all versions of Receiver as we've experienced this

Hardware:

HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G1, G2 and G3 models

HP EliteBook 840p G1, G2 and G3 models

HP EliteBook 2760p

HP EliteBook Folio

On the Network Interruption  Receiver notifies end-user that connectivity is lost with the counter starting from 5 Mins.

-  Where first 3 mins is Session Reliability during this period we can still see the session with a transparency layer been applied and next 2 mins is Auto Reconnect Timeout in which applications gets disconnected but Desktop session becomes grey with a timer running.

In any of the cases if connectivity is obtained back within 5mins sessions get reconnected.

To know more on this refer https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xenapp-and-xendesktop/7-13/hdx/auto-client-reconnect-sess-reliab.html

Thanks,

Veda

did you ever find the root cause we have HP 840 G3 windows 10 laptops that are driving users nuts with disconnects of Citrix.

Some things to consider:

1. Wireless connectivity: Make sure wireless coverage is excellent. Citrix is very unforgiving when you loose connection even for a brief moment. Check your APs logs or look at your reporting tools to dig in and eliminate coverage issues (if on Ethernet connections you can most of the time eliminate network connectivity).

2. Xenapp server config (version specific)

3. Registry settings for Receiver connectivity

Refer to for Xenapp - https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX217804 - for auto reconnect client settings

These are just places to start.
